William L. Russo is a certificated Airframe and Powerplant mechanic and the holder of an Inspection Authorization Certificate. He received a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics and a certificate in Aviation/Aerospace Safety from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Mr. Russo began his career in aviation in the United States Air Force as a C-130 Crew Chief with the Air Force Special Operations Command, serving in Operations Desert Calm, Southern Watch, Provide Comfort II, and Enduring Freedom, among others. He is the recipient of numerous awards and citations, including the Air Medal and the Bronze Star Medal.
Since leaving the military, Mr. Russo has worked as an A&P mechanic and as a Quality Control Inspector for several Part 121 commercial air carriers and a Part 145 repair station in both line and base maintenance. He has held many authorizations granted by commercial operators, including Required Inspection Item (RII), Aircraft Release Authority (ARA), and Run/Taxi Authorization. In addition, he has held Repair Station Maintenance Release and Return to Service Authorizations.
Mr. Russo is currently enrolled in the Master of Aeronautical Science program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University pursuing dual specialization in the fields of Aviation Education and Human Factors. He is employed as the Senior Instructor at an FAA certificated Part 145 Repair Station.
