Gleim was my natural choice for studying for the CIA exam since I used it successfully for a previous certification. I expected to pass the exam using Gleim but I was unprepared for winning the Kurt Riedener Award. I wholeheartedly believe Gleim’s system was the key to making that happen.
Having online access made it easy to study during lunch breaks and the performance statistics helped me target my weak areas during last minute prep. I also appreciated the ability to choose the number of questions in online tests, allowing me to simulate what the real test would be like.
I previously used Gleim for my CPA license and I was very satisfied with the review system, which is why I chose them again for the CIA exam. When I studied for the CPA exam, I liked that I could do my review online. I also liked the structure of taking a pretest, then listening to an audiovisual presentation of the information, then reading and taking practice questions from the book and finally taking the post-test. The system helped cement the ideas in my mind through the repetition. I followed the same general plan when I used Gleim for the CIA exam.
While studying for the CIA exam, I worked my full time job and scheduled at least two hours each weeknight to study. My goal was to complete a couple chapters a week and allow myself the week prior to the test to run through test questions and study areas where I was weak. I didn’t use the personal counselor option because I’m pretty motivated on my own. But I can imagine that would be invaluable to many people.
I cannot say enough good things about Gleim and I recommend it to anyone studying for the CIA exam or any of the other exams Gleim supports.
