I used the Gleim Premium Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Review System to not just pass the CIA exam, but to earn a Certificate of Excellence designation from the Institute of Internal Auditors for my score. Gleim’s system included all the resources I needed to succeed on the exam – and to do it quickly! I started preparing on June 29, 2018 and earned my CIA certification on August 1, 2018 (about 34 days total). I felt like Gleim’s system allowed me to set such a quick pace and to study efficiently since its pre-tests helped me see where I needed to allocate my time. It helped to have different content delivery methods available (lectures, outline videos, pre- and post-tests, and books), but the most useful features for me were the extensive bank of practice test questions and the explanations provided for correct and incorrect answers. Not all test prep programs provide that kind of instant feedback – instead leaving you to have to spend time searching through text and lectures to figure out why an answer was incorrect. Gleim avoids this by providing prompt and clear feedback on each answer choice. I found the Gleim practice questions to be representative of the style and content of the exam and, from start-to-finish, the preparation course was aligned with the content I encountered on each of the three CIA exam parts.
