Upon deciding to tackle the CIA certification, I compared several review material providers. I quickly decided to go with Gleim, mostly due to the functionalities provided and the good experiences my colleagues had made. I was most definitely not disappointed. The text books boiled down the topics to the essentials but still provided enough background and insights to thoroughly penetrate each topic and apply knowledge in my daily audit work, before I had even passed the first exam.

As I did most of my preparation while I was traveling for audits, I was pleasantly surprised with the good interfaces and programming of the online materials, so that going through the lecture materials on my laptop and even my cell phone was a breeze. What I liked most about the package though were the customizable tests. Depending on my study needs and time limits, I could squeeze in tests of variable length – focusing only on critical chapters – whenever I was on a train, had a break or felt like a quick study session. This motivated me a lot more than if I had always had to designate specific long study slots in advance. It also greatly helped that the question design closely mirrored the questions in the actual tests.

All this enabled me to pass all three parts of the CIA exam in only four months and obtain the William S. Smith Certificate of Honor. I therefore highly recommend Gleim for the preparation for the CIA exams and will most certainly choose Gleim products again should I choose to obtain another professional certification in the future.
