An enrolled agent (EA) is a federally-licensed professional who specializes in taxation and has unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS). To become an EA, candidates must pass the IRS Special Enrollment Exam (SEE), also known as the EA exam.
