Answer: You must apply for renewal between November 1 and January 31 prior to April 1 of the year that your next enrollment cycle begins. If you are a foreign citizen enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and you do not have a United States issued social security number, the Service will treat you as if you had a social security number ending with a “9.” Your next enrollment cycle begins April 1, 2012.
