To keep test anxiety to a minimum during exam day, you should arrive to the site at least half an hour prior to taking the test. This will give you time to collect your thoughts and belongings. An early arrival will also allow you to visit the restroom, get a drink and check in without feeling rushed. Make sure, however, that you have your Authorization Letter and Photo I.D. to present to the exam administrators. The last thing you want to do is leave the test site early because you left those crucial documents at home.
To ensure an early arrival, calculate the time it takes you to get from your home or hotel to the exam site. You should then double the calculation to compensate for heavy traffic, severe weather, parking problems or car trouble. If the exam site resides in an unfamiliar city, visit the location to ensure that you know how to get there and where to park. At a minimum, print out reliable maps from the Internet. Attending to such details will increase your self-confidence and sense of control.
