In your final week or two of preparation for the CIA exam, you should be busy completing your final review. There are several things you should remember as your exam date approaches. Here are some last-minute tips from Gleim.
If you don’t know the answer, guess, but make it an educated guess. An educated guess means selecting the best possible answer. To make educated guesses, follow these steps:
- Rule out any obviously incorrect answers.
- Speculate on the IIA’s rationale behind the question.
- Select between equally appealing answers.
Pick an answer, but “flag” any questions you are unsure about so you can review them later if you have time. However, avoid changing answers at the last minute, unless you have made an obvious computational error. Your first guess is most likely the correct one.
If you cannot make an educated guess, go with your intuition. You have studied hard and learned the material, so your intuition should lead you to correct answers.
NEVER leave a question unanswered.
