Gleim Publications, a professional education company focused on accounting and aviation exam preparation, announced today that it had collaborated with the Bread of the Mighty Food Bank, a subsidiary of the World Food Bank, to feed over 15,000 families throughout Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette, and Levy counties this holiday season. This donation will help increase food security and support local families across North Central Florida.
Over their 45 year history, Gleim has continuously given back to their customers and community and was able to respond to the food shortage impacting the area by creating the Giving Back program, the latest in Gleim’s long-term goal of strengthening local communities. The Giving Back program was a 12-day long campaign that ran through the first half of November. The program offered candidates discounts on accounting exam-prep courses and a portion of the proceeds from each sale helped provide meals for families in need, allowing Gleim to give back to both their customers and their community.
As a global company and member of the Gainesville community for over 45 years, we are proud to have participated in a give-back program that made a small difference in the fight to end food insecurities, a cause that affects people and communities around the world.
As a longstanding member of the community, Gleim Publications and its employees have raised funds for community groups and charities over the last 45 years. This year, as a part of their charity drive, Gleim employees donated hundreds of pounds of food to local families throughout North Central Florida.
Gleim truly is an amazing organization to work for. It is quite enriching to be a part of a company that makes such a commitment to delivering excellent care to our clients across the globe, while devoting equal attention to those in need across the street. The joy our clients expressed during the Giving Back campaign along with the enthusiasm of our staff helped to make this an unforgettable fundraiser.
Founded in 1974, Gleim Publications is a family-owned business that has been operating out of Gainesville, FL. As an industry leader in accounting and aviation exam prep, Gleim has helped candidates worldwide pass millions of certification exams over the last 45 years.
In 1974 acclaimed University of Florida professor Irvin Gleim and his wife wrote the first Gleim CPA Review course. Their mission was to create an effective and affordable course that could be used by candidates that preferred self-study. In less than 6 years, Gleim sales to accounting students and CPA candidates rocketed to over 90% of the market, establishing Gleim as the CPA Prep Industry pioneer.
With this early success under his belt, Dr. Gleim leveraged his accounting expertise in 1980 to self-publish what are now the most widely used CIA Review & CMA Review courses on the market. He again added to Gleim offerings in 1999 by releasing his standard-setting EA Review materials.
An avid pilot, he also applied his tried & true learning techniques to the aviation market, self-publishing pilot training books.
Today, in addition to being a leader in CPA, CIA, CMA, EA, and aviation certification prep, Gleim publishes in-class materials for accounting professors and students as well as hundreds of hours of CPE credit for professional accountants.
